The 21st Century Skills Gap
Most education systems were designed for a world that no longer exists. CRIAA is designed for the world that does.
India's classrooms produce some of the world's most academically able students — yet employers, universities and researchers consistently report that young people are entering adulthood without the skills needed to navigate modern professional and personal life. Critical thinking, creativity, effective communication, collaboration and self-direction are rarely assessed, rarely taught explicitly, and rarely prioritised in a system built around examination performance.
The consequences are significant: students who can recall facts but cannot apply them; graduates who know their subject but cannot think across it; young adults who have been prepared for the last century rather than the next one.
The World Economic Forum, OECD and UNESCO have all identified the development of 21st century skills as the defining educational challenge of our time. India's own National Education Policy 2020 explicitly recognises this — placing holistic development, critical thinking and competency-based learning at the heart of its vision for the future of Indian education.
CRIAA was founded in direct response to this challenge.
